Curtain fabric, folded into a neat blind.
A Roman blind gives you the colour and texture of a curtain in a compact form that suits smaller windows, kitchens, studies and rooms where full-length drapes would crowd the space. We make two styles. A soft Roman has no battens in the folds, so the fabric settles into relaxed, rounded swags. A classic Roman has rods sewn into the back, which hold crisp, even horizontal folds that stack neatly when raised. Both are made in our Jindalee workroom from the same fabric libraries as our curtains.

What is the difference between a soft Roman and a classic Roman blind?+
A soft Roman has no battens in the folds, so the fabric gathers into relaxed, rounded swags. A classic Roman has rods sewn into the back that hold crisp, even horizontal folds and stack neatly when raised.
Which fabrics suit Roman blinds?+
Most medium-weight curtain fabrics work well, including linens, textured weaves, prints and lined sheers. Very heavy or very stretchy fabrics are less suitable. We advise on this at your consultation.
Can Roman blinds block out light?+
Yes. We line Romans with a blockout or thermal layer for bedrooms and media rooms. Some light can still enter at the edges, so a small overlap or a curtain layer helps where full darkness matters.
Can Roman blinds be motorised?+
Yes. Roman blinds can be made with battery or wired motors and controlled by remote, app or compatible smart-home systems. We plan this before the blind is made.
